All my work nowadays consists of making architect design schemes, project scopes, and other maybe highly important but nonmaterial things. And with all that engineering work in IT, sometimes I just like to "work with my hands", to tinker with things and to see something substantial to come out. It's like that subtle wish almost every computer artist have (with all painters, photoshops and ungodly wacom thingies), to paint with natural oil and brush.
Well, as for "material" work, I'm presenting to you steampunk monitor mod. Well, not your 100 per cent steampunk really, it's just a kind of steampunkish (gold-and-brass and brutal =^_^=)...
Base model - RoverScan ( russian brand of eastern origin) UltraPro (aka Maxima 195). It served me for more than 5 years, a rather old LCD monitor.
Now, this monitor looks like this:
P.S. And yes, I'm looking for suggestions for new webcam to suit this style (with or without some modding). My old Genius Trek310 (shown above) won't work with 64-bit Vista, so my Skype now has video only @ linux netbook...
